Home Education Disadvantage

Although home education seems to be very ideal in today’s unpredictable world, there are still disadvantages that parents should be aware of. These include:

1. Home schooling may deprive kids of opportunities that a public school system provides. One example is the athletic potential of a student that can be developed if provided with sports facilities and athletic exercises.
2. The board on education is duty bound to ensure that home schooled kids still get the same level of learning with that of public school systems. Hence, they ensure that the proper curriculum is followed and the home teacher is a certified practitioner. Text books and other educational materials should be approved by the board, as well.
3. Another significant disadvantage of home education is that children may lose the ability to interact socially. The social skills that may develop while enrolled in a public school system cannot be guaranteed when a child is home schooled.
